Therapeutic Approaches
At Between the Lines, we use cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy (IPT), and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) based on each patient’s individual needs and goals.

Individual Therapy
Our practice uses evidenced based treatment modalities that are tailored to each client’s needs to ensure quality care is received and to increase positive outcomes. The initial session can be up to 90 minutes long to allow enough time for assessment, education, and questions. Feel free to bring a support person to the initial session.

Each additional session is 53 minutes long. We encourage weekly appointments as you begin and this can shift based on each individual and their needs.

Experiential/exposure sessions are also available after completing an initial session. This may happen over the course of therapy work together as specific situational skill deficits are identified. (Issues worked through in “real life” together vs. being discussed and planned out in my office and implemented on your own.)

Group Therapy
We currently do not have a group running.

CBT Body Image- (under 18, 18-24 and 25 and older)
This group focuses on body image- what it is, how it affects your life, and how to improve it. With increasingly influential advertisement promoting specific messages on one’s physical appearance, these messages can do harm over time. The goal of this group is to work on combating the negative psychological effects it has on you. The treatment modality that is used and taught to group members is cognitive behavior therapy. At completion of the group sessions, you will have learned many skills to continue improving your body image.

Experiential/Exposure Session
If you or your loved one need help in a specific area such as going to the dentist, clothes or food shopping, eating at a restaurant, or going to a birthday party, but are only interested in these types of sessions, a plan can be developed to help meet the identified goals after the initial session.
